You only have to upgrade if one of the standards related to your qualification changes.
Your qualification is valid until there are changes made to any of the related standards. The ISO Standards are typically updated every 6 – 8 years after the standard was released as part of the ISO continual improvement process.
Eg: The most recent ISO 9001 standard was released in 2015 so it could be between 2021 - 2023 that you might expect the standard to change and have to do some more study to keep your qualification current.
In most instances, you can simply do a bridging course that covers the differences between the new and old standard, and your qualification is then current again. The great news is we offer these bridging courses as well!
Typically businesses, auditors, and of course training providers, are given plenty of notification about the changes to allow time for transition. Normally there is a 3-year timeframe in which you can upgrade, once the changes have occurred, though these requirements vary depending on the industry and standard.
