What are the equipment requirements for your courses?

Don't worry, you don't need anything complicated!

Auditor Training Online (ATOL) recommends the following, to ensure the ability to adequately complete your qualification and download any necessary documentation.

Devices

Our courses can be accessed and completed on any of the following Internet-connected devices;

  • Laptop
  • PC / Desktop computer
  • iPad / Tablet
Note: While our courses are compatible with most tablet devices, some students have reported issues with SurfacePro compatibility. We recommend using an alternate device.
  • Smartphone (apple & android)
Note: While our courses are smartphone compatible, we do not recommend their use for optimal performance.

Operating Requirements

While not a requirement, content is best viewed using a minimum screen resolution of 1024×768.

You will need the following:

  • PDF Reader Software
  • An Internet connection
For optimal performance, we recommend an Internet bandwidth of 5Mbps download speed or greater. Speeds slower than this will continue to work, however it may take longer to download content.
  • Web browser with JavaScript and Cookies enabled:
    • Google Chrome - Recommended
    • Firefox 2+
    • Safari on Mac 1.2+
    • Microsoft Edge

As new operating systems are developed or existing ones change, we may need to modify some aspects of our LMS for improved user experience.

Our LMS does not support Internet Explorer - We strongly discourage the use of this platform as such we cannot guarantee your training experience using this platform.

Other Equipment

Students may also require access to the following equipment to fulfil assessment requirements:

  • Printer - While not necessary to complete the course some students like to have a printout of reference materials.
  • Scanner - Most printers have a scanner function now so it can be useful if the course requires you to upload things like proof of ID but often taking a picture with your phone will be good enough.
  • Audio Visual recording equipment - some courses may include 'observation' assessments, where you may be required to participate in an online video conference, or provide prerecorded videos of yourself performing certain tasks so a webcam or smartphone will be sufficient.

If you are unsure if you have the correct equipment to complete our courses, please contact Customer Service on our Contact Page and they will be happy to help.
